If I get too mean, I'm sorry, but I feel very strongly about this. About 2 weeks ago, I had a really bad seizure & was in the hospital for a week. I couldn't even remember my name (it was bad!). While my mom was in the hospital with me, my mom's beautiful dog unfortunately got really sick. We weren't sure what was wrong with her. We tried everything we could think of. So the next day from getting back, they called the Humane Society & had to make the heart breaking & difficult decision to give her up & take her to the Humane Society, so they could HOPEFULLY save her because we just couldn't afford to take her to the vet. (NOW LET ME SAY SOMETHING HERE... MANY families out there cannot afford a vet bill. Many families struggle daily to keep up with their everyday bills (prob including some people who work at the humane society. I know several Nurses who work at a hospital that struggle. This world is difficult... S#*T HAPPENS!!!) You'd think the Humane Society would know that... BUT they decided to use this situation as an opportunity to blast my mom on facebook, & make comments such as, "If you can't afford the vet bill, than you don't deserve a pet!" They posted that picture after the dog died, while blasting my mom so everyone could see it, & THEN decided to call my mom days later to let her know what happened.) NOW, this place knew exactly what was going on in my family. My mom told them about her being in the hospital with me all week & didn't know her dog was sick... my mom cried to them, asking the Humane Society what she should do because she REALLY didn't want to get rid of her, but she also didn't want to watch her die either. My mom just wanted to find some kind of hope for our dog! The Humane Society told my mom to go ahead & bring our dog to them... all while telling her to calm down because she was so hysterical, & telling her that everything will be OK. They were so nice to her, to her face, and trying to make her feel better. Which was nice at first & my mom thought it was sincere. Until about a week later when my mom saw their post on facebook blasting her on purpose, & TRYING to make her feel like S#*T... like she didn't already have enough issues . Just like everyone else in this world. She's been taking care of me for 2 weeks now doing everything. I've been bed riddin' all this time. The Humane Society knew what they were doing when they posted that. AND YOU PEOPLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! That post probably made you feel real good about yourself.... I'm glad destroying other people's hearts makes you feel good. But it just shows the kind of people you are.
Called about stray dog at McDonalds. Animal control officer very helpful.
We adopted our newest Boxer from them a few months ago. Great organization to work with. I was impress by the cleanliness of the place.
Eight years ago, I saw a dog on Petfinder at Ritchie County that called to me. I lived four hours away and didn't know when I could get there to pick up the dog. They assured me that if I gave my word that I was coming for him, that nothing would happen to him. I'm happy to say he's still here with me.
Believe me, I could go on.... but I'm done entertaining these people.
Great staff !We emailed back and forth .They answered all my question ....When we picked up or dog they were so nice and helpfull...We adopted a Germanshepard/Boxer mix.I would most definitely go there again when the time came to adopt another dog!
